Tip of the Week #171 – Using “On Hold” on Customer Ledger Entries

This week Project Manager Torben Nielsen has a useful suggestion for your finance department.

Did you know…

There’s actually one field on the Customer Ledger entry, in which you can enter data manually?

The field is the “On Hold” field.

It’s intended for use when you want to mark an entry for further inspection; For example if the customer has questions pertaining to it, and/or something has to be cleared out internally.

In this field you can manually key in (up to) 3 characters, on an entry.

If this field is filled, the entry will be ignored when generating reminders and finance charges.

Hence this field can be used to single out entries which shouldn’t be part of your recurring reminders or finance charge routines.
