Tip of the Week #39 – Set Up Cost Center for a Mixed Configuration

This week Lutz Schmieder brings us a tip for how to easily set up a cost center for a mixed configuration – that is, more than one billable production method in a single location.

By definition, a cost center in PrintVis is any part of your company to which costs my be charged for accounting purposes. This can be a place, person or machine.

Cost Center type „Mixed Configuration“

  1. Standard Setup:
  • Cost Center Type can be a Place/Person or a Machine:
  • Result in Configuration Setup:

The fields Type, Machine Type and Printing Machine are blocked. All configurations for this machine have this setup.

 

  1. If you have a machine with two basic configurations which are totally different:

Example: a machine is used as Sheet Fed and Web Fed, you can’t modify the machine type at the two basic configurations.

 

  • Solution: Setup the cost center as “Mixed Configuration” type.
  • Now you can modify the Machine Type at the configuration setup:
