Tip of the Week #176 – Be Sure to Fill in the Blanks

Tip of the Week #176 – Be Sure to Fill in the Blanks

Senior Consultant Thomas Beck Andersen shares a short – but very important – tip this week.

Round up/down on Capacity must be filled.

To avoid getting an error message when planning on Capacity, the two fields “Time Rounding Up” and “Time Rounding Down” cannot be empty. See the screenshot below (click for a larger view). Even if you don’t want to round the planned time for a given Cost Center up or down to the nearest quarter hour, these fields must have a value in your setup, or you will receive an error message when trying to plan.

Don’t want to use this functionality? Simply enter a ZERO in each box.

Time Rounding Up

In this field, you indicate the number of minutes which you want to round up to in connection with the planning.

If you have chosen a 15-minute value and the estimated time of the job is for example, 6.08 hours, the planning is rounded up so that the planned time is 6.25 hours.

Time Rounding Down

In this field, you indicate the number of minutes which you want to round down to in connection with the planning.

If you have chosen a 15-minute value and the estimated time of the job is for example, 6.08 hours, the planning is rouded down so that the planned time is 6.00 hours.

Thank you Thomas!
